Three years after Crest, on a calm evening with unusually still winds in Stormfeather Bay, Soar was born, a peaceful moment belying the whirlwind of energy that would become his life. As the youngest of the three raven brothers, Soar grew up idolizing Talon’s strength and Crest’s charisma, but he was determined to carve out his legacy as the fastest raven in the region. From the moment he could fly, Soar was obsessed with speed, racing the gulls and terns that shared the bay and weaving through the narrow rock formations with a reckless abandon that often left his brothers on edge. His lighter body and streamlined wings gave him an edge in the air, allowing him to outmaneuver even the swiftest birds in the area.

Soar’s love for feasting became evident early on, as he often celebrated his aerial victories with massive meals of fish, crabs, and seaweed wraps. His stomach, like his brothers’, has the ability to stretch when he eats a lot, a trait that has become a point of pride for him. During one memorable challenge at 20, Soar bet a group of rival ravens that he could eat an entire net of fish and still outfly them in a race. He devoured the fish, his belly swelling to 2.5 feet (0.76 m) in diameter, and to everyone’s shock, he took to the skies and won the race, his lighter body and powerful wings allowing him to soar despite the added weight. This feat earned him the nickname “The Swift Glutton, ” and he’s since become a local legend for his ability to combine speed with a hearty appetite.

Now at 26, Soar works as a scout for Stormfeather Bay, using his speed to spot schools of fish or incoming threats from miles away. His lighter body makes him more agile than Talon, and he often performs daring aerial stunts to entertain the younger ravens, diving at breakneck speeds to snatch fish from the waves or weaving through the cliffs with precision. Soar’s big belly, as seen on the beach, is a common sight after his scouting missions, as he rewards himself with feasts that leave him wobbling but still capable of flight. He’s less competitive about eating than Crest, but he enjoys the camaraderie of sharing meals with his brothers, often teasing them about their slower speeds while rubbing his swollen belly with a grin.

Soar’s relationship with his brothers is one of playful admiration. He looks up to Talon’s strength and often seeks his approval, while he shares a more lighthearted rivalry with Crest, challenging him to races or eating contests. Despite his daredevil nature, Soar has a deep loyalty to his family, and he’s always the first to volunteer for dangerous missions if it means protecting Stormfeather Bay. His dream is to one day race against the fastest birds in the world, hoping to prove that a raven can outfly even the swiftest peregrine falcon, all while carrying the weight of a delicious feast.
